WEEK 02 - First Phase Teaching Practice

TEACHING PHASE WEEK 02 (21/07/2025 - 25/07/2025) The second week of teaching practice included certain interruptions due to holidays and special school events. Tuesday was declared a holiday following the death of V. S. Achuthanandan, as a mark of respect. Thursday was also declared a holiday due to Karkidaka Vavu. To compensate for the loss of working days, classes were rescheduled and conducted on Saturday up to the afternoon. After this, the school premises were utilized for a PSC examination, and regular classes were suspended for the remainder of the day. On Friday, the school organized a prize distribution ceremony titled “Prathibha Sangamam” to honor the top scorers of SSLC and Plus Two examinations. The programme motivated students by recognizing academic excellence and encouraging them to strive for higher achievements. Despite the holidays, the week was productive and offered valuable exposure to school-level academic planning and co-curricular activities.

WEEK 01- First Phase Teaching Practice

Teaching Practice – Week 1 ( 14th July - 18th July) During the first week of teaching practice, I reported to the school at 9:15 a.m. every day. The first period began at 9:30 a.m. I was assigned to handle Biology classes for Classes VIII and IX, covering five divisions in total. This helped me become familiar with different classrooms, students, and their learning levels. The school routine was well organized, with the mid-day meal (lunch break) scheduled at 12:30 p.m. Daily activities also included the morning assembly, which promoted discipline and unity among students. Initially, all trainee teachers were accommodated in the school library, and later arrangements were made for us in the staff room, which allowed better interaction with teachers. Throughout the week, I observed students actively participating in both academic and co-curricular activities. During free periods, students were seen playing cricket, reflecting their enthusiasm for sports and physical activity. Tota...

TEACHING PRACTICE : PHASE 01

As part of our teacher education program, I undertook my teaching practice at GVHSS Vellanad on 14th July 2025. This opportunity provided a real classroom environment to apply the pedagogical theories and strategies learned during training. The experience allowed me to interact directly with students, manage a classroom, and deliver subject content effectively. Vellanad School offered a supportive and enriching atmosphere where I could enhance my teaching skills, adapt to diverse learning needs, and receive valuable feedback from experienced mentors. This practice marked an important step in my journey toward becoming a reflective and professional education. Our phase one teaching practice started on 14th July 2025 to 17th October 2025. It is conducted in two sessions, that is first session is from 14th July to 14th August and the second session from 8th September to 17th October 2025.
